America playing safe
Apropos to “Pakistan: The real rogue nation” by Arindam Chaudhuri (TSI, May 9-15), America believes in politics of treachery and dictatorship. Its steps on Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya and in recent operation in Pakistan shows that to show its limitless indomitable power it can deny sovereignty of an independent nation. The days of Osama's terror are gone, but by killing him America has not attained sainthood and can't be seen as a symbol of peace and humanity. This country has a shady past and India should always remain aware of that. We need America's help for strategic reasons. But this country can change colours any given day and may sell its war-weapons to Pakistan. Pakistan  propagates terrorism and is  the major reason for the Kashmir issue. But US has still not spoken strongly with our neighbour on these issues. America always manhandles nations in the name of violation of democratic rights, but by democracy it means to attack other countries and safeguard its own interests.

Long live paribartan!
Arindam Chaudhuri has written a magnificent editorial "Long Live Paribartan" (TSI, May 16-22 ) highlighting the clean sweep by Trinamool Congress in West Bengal. This win by Mamata Bannerjee has given birth to a significant chapter in Indian politics marking the end of CPM/Stalinism reign in Bengal. Didi's convincing win was the biggest story of the assembly elections and it ended the 34-year reign of the Left Front in Bengal. It castigates as it replaces. Now, Ms. Bannerjee needs to work towards the betterment of the poor and not let her party leaders beco me dishonest and corrupt. People of Bengal deserve peace after two decades of a virtually non-reported reign of terror. It’s the end of the rape of Marxism in Bengal! Long live paribartan!

Dangerous America
In reference to the editorial by Arindam Chaudhuri "Pakist an: The real rogue nation"(TSI, May 9-15), surely Osama has been killed by the US and we are thankful to them for doing that. But on the hindsight, why only Osama was killed when there are many more like him in the world? The likes of Lashkar-e-Taiba, Khalistani militants, Mumbai attackers, hijackers of Indian Airlines flight IC 814 in 1999, Dawood Ibrahim and many more were equally threaten ing. But the point is that all these miscreants have not yet created any kind of flutter in America. Many of top militants are still seeking refuge in Pakistan, but US is not attacking them as it did in Abbottabad in Pakistan. Many of these groups are funded by America only and whenever they try to go against the country, they get eradicated. This is the policy of US. So India must play safe against US and stay alert. Americans are aware of our potential and can do anything to sustain its dominance in the world.
